The birth of the beautiful goddess of love and sex Venus (Aphrodite) was the result of Cronus throwing his father Uranus out of heaven after castrating him. The blood fell into the sea and Venus was born. She then was blown onto the island of Cythera by the sweet east wind and was met by the four seasons who led her to Mount Olympus.
